Derek Nguyen

Derek L. Nguyen, MD is an Assistant Professor of Breast Imaging at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, USA. He attended medical school at the UT Southwestern, residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and fellowship in Breast Imaging at Duke University Medical Center. Derek joined the IDEA committee because he wanted to help pioneer and develop content that can help address disparity gaps for our breast radiologists and patients so all can feel accepted within SBI. His research interests include contrast-enhanced mammography, reduction of racial/financial disparities in breast imaging and optimization of breast imaging management recommendations. In addition, he is passionate about resident education and mentorship and has actively engaged in teaching and curriculum development.
